Some dates for your Diary

August is now upon us and the new playing season is a few short weeks away. There are a few pre-season activities and events coming up, so here are the details of the most imminent so you can put them into your diaries.

On Saturday 11th August, it's the annual RBS Rugby Force Day when we come together to tidy up the club and get it all ship-shape ready for the new season. In fact there will be some activity on the Friday night prior to that, getting some of the jobs prepped up. There will be a list of proposed jobs circulated shortly so read through the list, dig out your work clothes and tools and please turn up ready to make a difference on the day.

The following day - Sunday 12th August - we'll be re-kindling our relationship with the Cricket Club by soundly thrashing them in a 15-a-side limited overs game. Coach Liddle (Junior) will be guiding the troops through the niceties of the gentle game. As of now, we have no idea what precise time things will be starting, but please set aside the whole afternoon and head up to Kirkhill to join in the fun either on or off the pitch. We hope to have the reverse fixture in the form of a touch rugby match some time later in the year.

And then the rugby proper starts on the 18th August. That's our first pre-season game against Ross High and it coincides with our Former Players' Day where we will hopefully have a bit of a fun run-around involving former players and current Second XV players.

Lots to look forward to and we hope to see a good turnout at all of these events.
