A quick update on our plans to get things back up and running in a safe and enjoyable way.

The Bar

I know a few are desperate to get out of the house so pleased to report that we are still on track to be able to open the bar by the end of the month, however we know that things will be a little different. Some of the changes to expect will include

  • Social distancing measures in place with limited capacity
  • Plenty of hand sanitiser
  • Card payments only
  • A one way system operating in the club house
  • The need to register (for contact tracing purposes) when you arrive

Full details and new arrangements including opening times will be posted nearer the time.

Return to Rugby

Restrictions on rugby activities have also been relaxed slightly which we believe will allow us to get some form of limited training back up and running soon. We are working towards opening things up soon for seniors and – separately – the U18 squad, with the remaining age groups – including minis – hopefully being back just after the school holidays. There is more work to be done on this but please watch this space for further updates.

One thing we would ask everyone to do is to complete the SRU’s online Covid learning module. While this is compulsory for all coaches, players and officials we would encourage all club members to spend 15 mins completing this please. It is really straight forward so just click on the link below to get started.

Once you have successfully negotiated the end-of-module quiz, you will get a confirmation certificate which I would appreciate if you could send across to me at covid‑19@penicuikrugby.org so we can maintain a record of who has completed the training.

Thanks for your ongoing patience and support.
