Hawick Harlequins 19 – 30 Penicuik
It is a rare occurrence for a Penicuik side to record consecutive away bonus points down in the borders, but this afternoon our 1xv make the bus trip home with 10 pts.
Penicuik opened the scoring on 7mins with a Haynes penalty, only for Quins to reply immediately with a try. On 30mins Ketchen danced over to make it 5-8, 3 minutes later Ketchen found himself in space to touchdown again for his 6th in 2 games with Haynes adding the extra’s 5-15.
Andrew Hunter crossed the whitewash just before half time for his 1st Penicuik try, Haynes converted, Penicuik however fumbled the restart and allowed Quins in for a try on the half time whistle to make it 12-22.
Quins scored again to start the 2nd half, however 10mins later Dean touched down for his 2nd try this season. A penalty from Haynes shortly after turned the score 19-30.
The final 10 minutes were a rollercoaster of emotion with Penicuik down to 13 men with McCormick and Haynes both yellow carded, however the team held on for the bonus point win.
