A massive thanks to Sonia and her army of volunteers for organizing Sunday’s excellent mini rugby festival sponsored by Greenstone Energy Solutions.
This was a brilliant team effort from across the club to make today a success. Thanks to our visiting teams, Biggar Rugby, Dalkeith rugby, Lasswade rugby , Leith Hawks and Livingston Rugby. Also thanks to Angus Williams, Euan McVie & Tom Dodd from Edinburgh Rugby who were on hand to present medals to teams.
Special mention to our coaches , the teams in the kitchen alongside our resident burger chefs behind the scenes who kept everyone fed, and to James and Jodie for running the tombola and face painting .
It’s often said rugby comes full circle, and in amongst 600 odd players there was a game on Sunday between Penicuik P4 and Leith Hawks. Standing behind the try line were 4 former and 1 current Penicuik 1xv player (including 3 former 1xv club captains) who in-between catching up and remember previous games together, were watching their sons Blair, Brodie, Leo, Oliver & Zavier all play with and against each other.
Well done to all the players who played great positive rugby. The future is bright!
