We are now in full swing for the town’s annual festival which builds up to Saturday’s Hunter & Lass Day.

Congratulations to Duncan & Kelly and we hope you have a great day!

The Club has a long association with the Hunter & Lass with a number of our members & players having held the position of Penicuik Hunter  such as Nicky Gibson (1950), Neil Beattie (1987), Graham Blakie (1995), Gav Stephen (2004), Cammy Crawford (2010) & Colin Hawkins (2015) and this year is no exception with our mini’s player Straun Fraser having the privilege to represent the town as the Junior Hunter.  Well done Straun!!

On Wednesday the Pram Race starts at 7:30pm from the Cuiken Inn and finishes at the Rugby Club, we are hopeful our last pram race team can go one better and win this years race.  The awards will be presented at the club front door and the bar will be open from 7:30pm for refreshments afterwards

Thursday is the Installation inside the Town Hall from 6:45pm for the sashing of the Junior Hunter & Lass and 7:30pm for the Sashing of Duncan & Kelly

On Saturday our mini’s & midi’s will join the parade.  All players should meet behind Beatsons 12 for 12:30, please wear playing kit and strips will be provided. (as its Penicuik best to bring a water proof as well).  Thanks to the Gladstones for the use of the vehicle and to Alex Pettie for driving the float.

After the Parade, Penicuik in the Park kicks off (Organized by the Rotary Club), the clubhouse will be open to the public from 1pm and from 7pm we will host the annual Hunter’s Party.

Penicuik in the Park is one of our busiest times of the year, and we are asking as many members as possible to help ensure the bar can tick over during the day.  If you can spare an hour on Saturday please reach out to Robbie MacTaggart on the usual channels.

We look forward to welcoming the Hunter & Lass into the clubhouse on Saturday along with all other town’s principles and our own ex principles
