A proud family operated and local based business in its 76th year. McKenzie will take on the team front of our new senior shirt sponsor, as well as all our age grade teams.
The company is the oldest skip hire company in Edinburgh, operating out of Old Pentland, Straiton.
M McKenzie, established in 1948 is a third generation business with over 40 years experience in the waste recycling/ management industry and are one of the oldest skip hire companies in Edinburgh and the Lothians. They still operate from the same site and the central location enables them to provide our customers with the best possible service at very competitive prices.
In the 1970’s they operated and infilled a 25 acre landfill site at Old Pentland over a period of 20 years and successfully returned the land to agriculture. With the experience gained from this operation they were able to diversify to cover all recycling requirements in both domestic and commercial fields.
M McKenzie have continued to invest in, and modernise, the recycling plant and machinery at their waste transfer station at Old Pentland. Due to continued investment they have achieved recycling figures of around 85%.
M McKenzie is SEPA licensed and are proud of our clean “Bill of Health” with them.

M McKenzie has recycled wood on their site at Old Pentland since the 1970’s starting
with very small quantities increasing over the years and today they now recycle approximately
450 tonnes of waste wood per month. This means that they divert approx. 20,000 tonnes of waste wood per year from landfill.
M McKenzie produce a high quality wood chip of various dimensions, which is used in the production
of chipboard, M.D.F, recycled biomass fuel and recycled animal bedding
