**In Remembrance and Honor**

As we gather  on this solemn Remembrance Sunday, we take a moment to honour and pay tribute to those who have bravely served and sacrificed for our freedom. From the fields of Flanders to the Highlands and beyond, their courage and dedication have left an indelible mark on our history.

Let us remember the fallen, the veterans, and those currently serving, with deep gratitude and respect. Their stories of resilience and heroism remind us of the cost of peace and the importance of unity.

today we wear our poppies with pride and reflect on the strength of the Penicuik Rugby Community

we pause to honor the brave members of the Penicuik Rugby Club who made the ultimate sacrifice during World War II. We remember:

– **David Barclay**, Private, 2nd Battalion Black Watch. Killed 8th May 1944, aged 23.

– **Alex Forsyth**, Sergeant, RAF. Missing in action 15th April 1941, aged 23.

– **Charles Paton**, Private, 2nd Battalion Black Watch. Killed 28th June 1944, aged 27.

– **Andrew Robb**, Leading Aircraftsman, RAF VR. Killed 22nd July 1944, aged 35.

Their courage and dedication ensure the freedoms we enjoy today, and their legacy lives on through our community and the sport they cherished.

We also extend our gratitude to the current members of our club who serve in the armed forces. Your commitment and service are an inspiration to us all.

As we gather in remembrance, let us reflect on the sacrifices made by those before us and honor their memory by living with the same values of courage, dedication, and community spirit.
