Penicuik will shortly be able to boost our first ever Barbarian tourist with the news this week Sarah Law has been selected for Barbarian F.C. when the world-famous invitational club take on Springbok Women on Saturday 7 September at Cape Town’s DHL Stadium.
Sarah recently retired after earning 53 caps, however is looking forward to finishing one last game to end a fantastic career!
Everyone in the club is extremely proud that Sarah will wear the legendary black and white strip and there’s a rumour her socks will be Penicuik Red !!
Full broadcast details will be released once known and where possible we will look to screen the game live.
This season the 2xv are captained by legendary PRFC fullback Ally McCormick
Mini Rugby
This weekend our mini’s & micros are training 11-12am.
We are currently recruiting new players across all age grades.

Josh ‘in’ around
Our club development officer Josh has restarted his school sessions. Here’s what he’s been up to :-
“This was the first couple weeks of rugby within primary schools in both cornbank and sacred heart with well over 100 kids, where we built on what we did last year – working on hand eye co-ordination and understanding the basics.
We also have now started the new school of rugby sessions at beeslack high school where we had a number of sessions for s1-s3. In these sessions we focused on the basics of rugby with a key focus being decision making and finding space, we did this by using world rugbys new T1 touch which is great for understanding the laws of rugby union.
We have received a decent reception for rugby with people interested in coming to the youth training at the club.”
Next week Josh will be in and around Cornbank Primary & Sacred Heart Primary school for a 4 block session.

Last Saturday the club hosted the surprise 50th for Steven McManus and an 18th for his son Ben. Despite being several months in being arranged, everyone managed to keep this a complete surprise from both of them and well done to Sabrina for arranging
