Josh ‘in’ around
Our club development officer Josh is in and around our local schools. Here’s what he’s been up to :-
During this week’s sessions at Mauricewood and Roslin primary schools, we focused on helping the children find space and move effectively through various drills and games.
At Beeslack High School, we honed their decision-making and reaction times under pressure. By engaging in these activities, the kids not only improve their rugby skills but also develop important life skills such as quick thinking, strategic planning, and teamwork.
Rugby promotes physical fitness and mental resilience, making it an ideal sport for children to grow and thrive.
If you’d like your child to try rugby in Penicuik’s primary schools please message Josh at do@penicuikrugby.org
This Saturday our 2xv travel to Kings Park for a Midlothian Derby. The last time these side met at Dalkeith in January 2023 the 2xv came away 33-14 winners. 6 of that side start this weekend and will be hoping for a similar result.
Dalkeith last played 19th October and narrowly lost out 24-33 to Corstorphine, at the time of going to press the fixture is on…but with all things in East Region Reserve Division 2 please check back for confirmation before travelling over.
2xv coach James has been able to call upon a full squad, Craig Skirving comes out of cold storage to return to the front row, Andy McLellan continues to impress in training and lines up alongside the experience Rich Moffat for his first start of the season.
Findlay and McCormick continue at half backs with a very experienced centre pairing outside them of Hope and Harris. Arran King starts on the wing for the first time and will be looking to get himself in space.

New Storage
We have purchased a new storage container which is now located by the back door of the club, over the coming weeks we will fit this out and plug in electrics to allow us to move kit that is currently scattered across several rooms/cupboards. Thanks to all involved with this, we are in possession of the move video which we are keeping in cold storage until the correct time to release to the public.
