Josh ‘in’ around

Our club development officer Josh is in and around our local schools.  Here’s what he’s been up to :-

This week has been incredibly productive as I continued my school rugby sessions.

At Roslin and Mauricewood Primary Schools, we focused on developing the students’ passing skills. Specifically, we worked on passing from the hip and moving into space to create opportunities for easier and more effective passes.

The children showed remarkable progress and enthusiasm, making each session enjoyable and rewarding.

In addition, I continued my work with Cuiken and Strathesk Primary Schools. With these groups, we incorporated evasion games and posing games to help them get comfortable with a rugby ball and improve their handling skills.

These activities not only boosted their confidence but also introduced them to the dynamic and fun aspects of rugby.

It has been a joy to see their excitement and growth in such a short period.

Overall, it’s been a fantastic week of skill development and fun-filled learning. I look forward to continuing our journey and seeing even more progress in the coming weeks!

If you’d like your child to try rugby in Penicuik’s primary schools please message Josh at do@penicuikrugby.org
