Josh ‘in’ around

Our club development officer Josh has restarted his school sessions.  Here’s what he’s been up to :-

This week, we continued our rugby sessions with Sacred Heart and Cornbank Primary Schools, focusing on important skills such as finding space on the field and improving hand-eye coordination through various fun games. These exercises not only help enhance physical abilities but also foster teamwork, communication, and strategic thinking among the children.

At Beeslack High School, we built upon the basics, introducing new skills such as kicking from hand. For some age groups, we also began teaching the fundamentals of tackling, with a strong emphasis on safety to prevent injuries. By learning how to tackle safely and effectively, the students not only improve their technique but also develop confidence, discipline, and resilience—important qualities both on and off the field.

Through the use of T1 rugby, we are helping students deepen their understanding of the game while developing crucial life skills like decision-making, leadership, and perseverance.

Rugby’s inclusive nature teaches young players to support one another and work as a team, values that will benefit them throughout their lives.
