Rugby Update This Weekend

Friday Night Bump

The 1s and 2s have no game this weekend because of the 6 nation’s weekend. However this has not stopped the Penicuik social team “The Buzz Bombs” making an outing.

Portobello were supposed to be playing a Welsh club at Peffermill on the eve of the game at Murrayfield, however the touring Welshmen could not muster a 15 and could not play the game. In steps ourselves, ever the club to oblige and play the game. It’s a great shame that annual fixtures have gone by the wayside.

All over the city on 6 Nations weekend clubs would welcome teams from all over the country. Who knows if our own players show some enthusiasm to travel we may get an annual fixture ourselves.

Kick-off is 7.00pm at Peffermill. If you’re in the area pop your head in and see a very mixed bunch of players putting on a dynamic show of champagne rugby. Coaches Cartwright and Mann may also adorn the turf and show how their geriatric style of play crosses the generations.

6 Nations Clubhouse Activity

We open 2pm tomorrow for Ireland v France (2:15pm ko) and have Scotland v Wales at 4:45pm

The club was bouncing last Saturday and lets hope for the same this week

All Min training is now off until Wednesday 22nd of February for the school holidays
